neda movahed is a folk artist, creative writer, sustainability educator, and community facilitator.
she is a bridge-builder between generations, cultures, species, and rituals.
neda is Kurdish Iranian American and part of the first generation in her family to have been born in the United States.
she is deeply aware of her simultaneous existence as the future generation of her ancestors and an ancestor-in-making for future generations.
neda is an advocate of imagination + embodiment. one of her current projects includes a collaborative children’s book about caring for one’s imagination.
in love with nature’s wonders, neda spends her free time gardening and cooking. she is committed to the folk arts of dance, rug weaving, poetry, and storytelling. neda recognizes creative learning as essential for human evolution.
with certifications in Liz Lerman’s Critical Response Process® and Multi-Track Diplomacy & Conflict Resolution, neda is committed to the lifelong practice of being a present, authentic, potent, and approachable communicator.
neda holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Sustainability from Arizona State University and a
B.S. in Environmental Science & Policy from the University of Maryland, College Park.
currently, neda supports the Liz Lerman LLC as a Project Manager part-time and occasionally substitute teaches for K-12 schools in the Montgomery County Public Schools system in Maryland.
